What actually decides whether it works
Price is the easy part. These are the points that decide whether the fence still stands, and still works, after five years of weather and attempts on it.
For a small job, check local stock first
Standard mesh and wire are made in South Africa too, and for a few rolls a local merchant often wins once freight is counted. Importing pays off on volume — a farm boundary, an estate, a warehouse perimeter or a reseller's container — and on items that are not stocked here. We will tell you which side of that line your order is on.
Corrosion is where cheap fencing fails
Two rolls of mesh that look the same can carry very different zinc coatings, and the thin one rusts through near the coast within a few seasons. Ask for the galvanising weight in grams per square metre, in writing, and treat a vague answer as an answer.
Electric fences are regulated here
In South Africa an energiser must meet the local safety standard, and a new or altered electric fence needs a certificate of compliance from a registered installer. We confirm the position for the specific energiser before quoting. We supply the equipment; the installation and the certificate are done locally.
Megapixels are not the number that matters at night
A high-megapixel camera with poor low-light performance shows you a grey blur at 2 a.m. Ask for the night-vision range and the sensor, and check the recorder can store the number of days you need. Cameras that record people also bring privacy duties under POPIA, so plan where they point.
Rate the motor for the gate, not the brochure
A gate motor is chosen on the gate's mass and length and on how often it opens. An under-rated motor fails early, and load-shedding makes battery backup essential rather than optional. Tell us the gate size and type and we match the motor to it.
You're trading the dealer network for the price
That's the honest trade. There is no branded technician on standby and no local warranty desk for imported electronics. Budget for a relationship with a good local installer, and prefer standard, widely supported parts and protocols over closed systems only one company can service.

Is imported fencing cheaper than buying locally?
Not always. For a small order a local merchant often wins once freight is counted. Importing makes sense on volume and on items that are hard to find here. Tell us the quantity and we will give you an honest landed comparison rather than assume.
Can you supply electric fence energisers?
Yes, but they are regulated. The energiser has to meet the South African safety standard and the finished fence needs a certificate of compliance from a registered installer. We confirm the position for the specific unit before quoting.
Do the cameras work with apps and remote viewing?
Most do, but check the recorder and the app before you buy, not after. We confirm remote viewing, storage and compatibility with the supplier in writing. Wireless equipment also needs ICASA type approval to be sold here.
Do you install?
No. We deliver the equipment; installation is done by a local installer, and electric fences must be certified by a registered one. We would rather say that plainly than quote a turnkey price we cannot stand behind.
