What actually decides whether imported farm kit works out
Price is the easy part. These are the specification points that determine whether the machine is still earning its keep in year five.
Match the hitch and PTO to what you own
Category I and Category II three-point hitches don't interchange without adapters, and driven implements need the right PTO speed — 540 or 1000 rpm. Tell us what implements you already run and we'll spec the tractor around them instead of leaving you to discover the mismatch on delivery.
Simpler is usually better here
Heavily emissions-controlled engines with particulate filters are sensitive to fuel quality and expensive to repair. On a farm running variable rural diesel, a straightforward mechanically injected engine is often the better long-term buy — and we'd rather tell you that than sell you the more expensive machine.
Filters and belts are what strand you
Not gearboxes. The parts that stop work are cheap, consumable and easy to ship with the original order. We specify a kit covering the first two services plus common wear items, so the machine's first year doesn't depend on a 30-day lead time.
Count your remotes before you order
Adding a hydraulic remote after the fact is expensive and often untidy. Work out every implement you might run in the next five years, count the services they need, and order the tractor with them fitted from the factory.
You're trading the dealer network for the price
That's the honest trade. There is no branded service van coming out to your farm. Budget for a relationship with a good local diesel mechanic, and buy the machine with that in mind — which is another argument for conventional, serviceable engineering over clever electronics.
Don't buy on horsepower alone
Tractor weight and hydraulic capacity often matter more than peak power for the work you'll actually do. A light tractor with big numbers will spin, lift poorly and wear itself out. Tell us the job and we'll size on the right figure.

How long until it's on my farm?
Roughly eight to fourteen weeks door to door for a standard machine — build, sea freight to Durban, clearing, then road to the farm. Plan around your season: order in the off-season and it arrives when you need it, not halfway through.
Can I finance it like a dealer purchase?
We itemise quotes so your bank or an asset finance provider can work from them directly, with the full landed value and specification attached. The approval decision is theirs — but the paperwork won't be what stalls it.
What about implements to go with the tractor?
Order them together. Implements are cheap to add to a container that's already shipping and expensive to bring in on their own later. It's also the only way to guarantee the hitch and PTO match on arrival.
Is a small order worth doing?
Yes — a single hammer mill or pump ships in a consolidated container. Below a certain value the fixed clearing costs start to dominate, and if that's the case for your order we'll tell you straight rather than quoting something that doesn't make sense.
