17 / Agro-processing & milling
Processing kit sized to your crop, your kilos and your power supply
Dehydrators, spice and chilli lines, maize and hammer mills, feed pellet mills and oil presses sourced direct. Small processing businesses usually come unstuck on two things — a dryer too small for the wet harvest, and a machine that needs three-phase power the premises does not have. We check both before we quote.

What we source in this line
Capacities below are the common bands. Tell us the crop, the kilos you want out per day and the power you have, and we'll size the line to it.
| Equipment | Typical range | Worth specifying |
|---|---|---|
| Tray dehydrators & drying ovens | 24 – 96 trays | Electric, gas or heat pump; airflow; food-grade trays |
| Mesh belt dryers | 100 – 1 000 kg/h wet | Number of layers, heat source, temperature control |
| Bubble washers | 200 – 1 000 kg/h | Stainless tank, water recirculation, spray bar |

What actually decides whether it works
Price is the easy part. These are the points that decide whether the product comes out dry, clean and legal to sell.
Size the dryer on wet kilos in, not powder out
Fresh chillies, herbs and vegetables lose most of their weight in drying. A line that makes 50 kg of powder a day may need a dryer that takes several times that in fresh product. Tell us what goes in at the start and we size every machine after it to match.
Check the power supply before the machine
Dryers, mills and pellet presses draw a lot of power, and many are built for three-phase. A premises on single phase, or with no connection yet, changes which machines make sense. We specify for the supply you actually have, or will have, and say so on the quote.
Food-contact parts must be stainless, and the premises needs its certificate
Anything that touches product should be food-grade stainless steel, not painted mild steel. Separately, a food premises in South Africa needs a certificate of acceptability from the municipality under the food hygiene regulations. The machines do not get you that certificate, but the wrong machines can cost you it.
Electric, gas or heat pump decides your running cost
The purchase price of a dryer is the smaller number. What it costs to run for years depends on the heat source and your tariff. Electric is simplest to install, gas is cheaper to run where supply is reliable, and heat pumps use the least energy but cost more up front.
Plan the packing end with the processing end
A line that makes product faster than you can fill, seal and label it just builds a pile. We quote processing and packaging together so the two ends match, and point you to our packaging line where it fits better.
You're trading the dealer network for the price
That's the honest trade. There is no branded technician on standby. Budget for a local fitter who knows motors, bearings and belts, keep a set of screens, blades and seals on the shelf, and buy machines built on standard parts rather than proprietary ones.
Small processors ask these
I'm just starting out. What size should I buy?
Size to what you can sell in the first year, with room to add a second machine later, rather than buying for the business you hope to have in five. Tell us your products and the kilos a day you expect, and we'll suggest the smallest line that does it properly.
My premises has no power yet. Does that matter?
Yes, it decides the machines. Many processing machines are made for three-phase supply. If you will only have single phase, or a generator, we choose machines that run on it, and we tell you the total load so your electrician can plan the connection.
Can you quote for a funding application?
Yes. We give a formal, itemised quotation with a quotation number, date and validity period, on our letterhead. Prices come from the manufacturers in writing, and anything not yet confirmed is marked as such rather than guessed.
Do you install and train?
Delivery is in the landed price. Many small machines are set up by a local electrician using the maker's manual and videos. For larger lines the manufacturer can send an engineer at a daily rate plus travel, which we price as a separate line.
Tell us the crop and the kilos, not the model number
What goes in, what you want out, kilos a day and the power you have — that's enough for us to come back with options, a landed price in Rand and a realistic delivery date.
- No obligation and no cost to quote
- Options at more than one build quality
- Landed price — duty, VAT and delivery included
- We reply within one working day
