What actually decides whether it works
Price is the easy part. These are the points that decide whether the equipment is safe, legal and still switching in ten years.
Electrical products must meet our standards
Many electrical products sold in South Africa must comply with local compulsory specifications and standards, and some need approval before they can be sold. We confirm the position for each product before quoting, and we ask for test certificates in writing.
Specify for 400 V, 50 Hz
Motors, drives and switchgear must match our supply: 230 V single phase, 400 V three phase, 50 Hz. Equipment built for 60 Hz markets runs at the wrong speed. We specify for our supply by default.
Motor efficiency pays back fast
A motor running most of the day costs far more in electricity than to buy. Higher efficiency classes cost more up front and less every month. We quote the efficiency class on every motor.
Variable speed drives save energy on pumps and fans
On pumps and fans a variable speed drive can cut energy use sharply, and soft-start the motor. Harmonic filters may be needed on larger drives. We size the drive to the motor and the application.
Installation needs a certificate of compliance
Electrical installations must be done by a registered electrician and covered by a certificate of compliance. We supply the equipment; the installation and certificate are local.
You're trading the dealer network for the price
That's the honest trade. There is no branded service desk for imported switchgear. Standardise on common frame sizes and ratings, keep critical spares like breakers and drives on the shelf, and use a registered local electrician.

Is imported electrical equipment approved?
Some products need approval before they can be sold here. We confirm the position for each product before quoting and ask for test certificates in writing.
Can you match an existing motor?
Usually. Send us the nameplate: power, speed, frame size, mounting and voltage. We match it and confirm the frame dimensions with the manufacturer.
Can you supply a complete panel?
Yes, built to your single-line diagram. We ask for the drawings and have the panel quoted and built to them, with the components listed.
Do you install?
No. Electrical installation is by a registered electrician, who issues the certificate of compliance.
