What actually decides whether it works
Price is the easy part. These are the points that decide whether the linen goes out on time or piles up wet.
Drying capacity is what actually limits you
Washers are fast and dryers are slow. A laundry sized on washer capacity alone ends up with wet linen and no dry stock. As a rule you need meaningfully more drying capacity than washing capacity, and more still if you are drying heavy towelling. We size the line, not the machine.
Gas, steam or electric changes the whole project
Electric dryers are simple to install and expensive to run. Gas is cheaper per kilo and needs a gas installation and sign-off. Steam is cheapest at scale and needs a boiler, water treatment and a competent operator. Decide this first, because it determines the machines and the building work.
Hard water destroys laundry equipment and linen
Scale ruins heating elements, valves and linen quality, and South African water hardness varies enormously by town. Get your water tested before you buy, and budget for softening. It is a small cost that protects a large one.
High-spin washers need a proper base
A hard-mount extractor at full spin puts serious dynamic load into the floor and needs a designed concrete base or bolted mounting. Soft-mount machines cost more and forgive a weaker floor. Tell us your building and we will say which makes sense.
Size on your worst day, not your average
A guesthouse laundry copes fine until a full changeover on a Sunday. Work out the peak linen load you must clear in a day and size for that, because the cost of falling behind is rooms you cannot let.
You're trading the dealer network for the price
That's the honest trade. There is no branded technician on standby. Budget for a relationship with a good local technician who knows commercial laundry, and buy with that in mind — which is an argument for standard bearings, belts and controls over proprietary electronics.

Will it run on South African power?
Yes, if it is specified correctly — we specify 50 Hz equipment for a 50 Hz country, so motors and inverters run at the right speed. Commercial washers and electric dryers are three phase with a substantial load, so we confirm it against your actual supply before ordering.
Gas or electric dryers?
Gas is cheaper to run and needs a gas installation signed off locally; electric is simpler to install and more expensive every day after that. For anything beyond a small guesthouse, gas usually wins on running cost. Tell us your volume and we will show you where the crossover falls.
How many machines do I actually need?
It depends on your daily kilos and your turnaround window, not on your room count. Give us both and we will size the line — and we will usually recommend more drying capacity than washing, because that is where laundries get stuck.
Do you supply dry cleaning machines?
We can, but solvent type is the deciding question and some solvents carry restrictions. We confirm the position for the specific machine with our clearing agent before quoting rather than after, because it determines whether the machine can be brought in and legally operated.
