What actually decides whether it works
Price is the easy part. These are the points that decide whether the stock earns its money for years.
Hire stock lives in the back of a truck
Chairs get stacked and thrown, tents get pitched in mud and packed wet. Ask for the load rating on chairs, the fabric weight and coating on tents, and buy for handling, not the showroom.
A tent is only as safe as its wind rating and pegging
Stretch and frame tents must be rated for wind and pitched to the maker's pegging plan. Ask for the wind rating in writing, and never pitch beyond it.
Fabric should be flame retardant
Tents and draping used for public events should be flame retardant, and large events need safety approval from the municipality. Ask for the fabric's flame-retardancy certificate.
This line pays by the container
A handful of chairs is cheaper locally. A container of chairs, tables and a tent or two is where factory-direct pricing makes a hire business.
Funeral stock needs to be reliable every time
Lowering devices and trolleys are used at every service and must never fail. Ask the load rating and brake design, and keep spare straps.
You're trading the dealer network for the price
That's the honest trade. There is no branded repair service. Order spare fabric panels, poles, straps and chair parts with the shipment, and use a local canvas repairer.

I'm starting a hire business. What should I buy first?
Usually a stretch tent, 100 chairs and 10 tables, then build from bookings. Tell us your market and budget and we quote a starter package.
Are stretch tents waterproof?
Good ones are, with the right coating, but the pitching matters as much as the fabric. We ask the fabric weight and coating in writing.
Do you supply funeral equipment?
Yes: lowering devices, church trolleys, grave covers and funeral tents, together with chairs and marquees.
Do you install the tents?
No. We supply the tents with the maker's pitching guide; your own crew pitches them. For large frame tents the manufacturer can train your team at a daily rate.
