TRYGSOUTH AFRICA Request a Quote

Protection of Personal Information Act

What we do with what you send us

You give us your details so we can price a machine for you. This page says exactly what we collect, who ends up seeing it, how long we keep it and how to make us delete it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

We use your details to quote, and for nothing else

We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for. The only reason we hold anything is to prepare your quote and follow it up.

01 / Who we are

The responsible party

Tryg, trading in South Africa, is the responsible party for the personal information described here. You can reach us at sales@tryg.co.za or on WhatsApp at our published number. Any question about this notice can go to that address.

02 / What we collect

Only what a quote needs

From the enquiry form: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email address if you give one, company name if you give one, the town or province for delivery, your budget range and the description of what you need. If you contact us on WhatsApp or by email instead, we hold that conversation and whatever you choose to put in it.

03 / Why we hold it

To price the machine and come back to you

We use it to source and specify equipment, prepare a landed quote, answer your questions and follow up. If you place an order we also use it to arrange freight, customs clearing and delivery, because those parties need a consignee and a delivery address.

04 / Who else sees it

Suppliers abroad, and agents here

To quote you we send your requirement to manufacturers and suppliers, most of them in China. We send the specification, not your contact details, unless you ask us to introduce you directly. If you order, your name and delivery address go to our freight forwarder, clearing agent and transporter, because a shipment cannot be cleared without them.

05 / Sending it overseas

Cross-border transfer, stated plainly

Because our suppliers are outside South Africa, quoting your enquiry involves sending information to another country, which may not have privacy laws equivalent to ours. We keep that to the machine specification wherever possible. If you would rather nothing at all left the country, tell us and we will work within that — it will limit what we can quote.

06 / How long we keep it

As long as it is useful to you

Enquiries that do not turn into orders are kept while the quote is live and for a reasonable period after, in case you come back to it. Records relating to an actual purchase are kept for as long as tax and customs law requires us to keep them. Ask us to delete an enquiry and we will, unless it is attached to a completed import.

07 / Cookies

This site does not set any

There is no advertising, no tracking pixel and no analytics on this website. Nothing is stored in your browser. If that changes we will say so here before it does. The WhatsApp button hands you over to WhatsApp, which is operated by Meta under its own terms — what happens once you are in that app is between you and them.

08 / Your rights

Ask, correct, delete, complain

You may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Email sales@tryg.co.za and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa), whose details are published at inforegulator.org.za.

This notice applies to www.tryg.co.za and to enquiries made through it. We will update it when what we do changes — last updated 2026.
